James Ferraro presents: Plague

James Ferraro presents: Plague

Fri 02.02.,
21:00 - 22:00
Single Tickets only

transmediale and CTM Festival are presenting the world premiere of Plague, an audiovisual stage performance by critical futurist James Ferraro. The work is built around speculations on a future society in which a deranged AI is simulating reality through the manipulation of living humans, with the goal of creating the ultimate consumer product. As the AI struggles to emulate what it means to be human, tensions arise between the clinical gaze of the machine and the imperfection of its emulation. The centerpiece of this new commission is a choral composition complemented by live visuals from Nate Boyce, as well as a Steve Jobs clone and surprise scenographic elements.

Plague is presented in co-operation with CTM Festival and is commissioned by transmediale and Abandon Normal Devices as part of the New Networked Normal with the support of the Creative Europe program of the European Union.
