By the time the zoo is closing, detained animals feel frustrated and confused. The only thing they can do is retain a slight degree of consciousness and wait for the changing of time. Demos is a lyrical assemblage of observational footage collected from various places, devoid of dialog, characters, and plot. It relies solely on its affecting soundscape, hypnotic imagery, and editing to stimulate the mind of the viewer. The film is also an attempt to depict the gloom, oppression, and surreal reality under Thailand’s military regime since the coup in 2014.
